7.62x51mm. 20" barrel (Without muzzle device). SN: 16305. Parkerized and Blued metal finish with polished walnut furniture and black synthetic pistol grip. Roller-locking delayed blowback operated semi-automatic rifle fed by detachable box magazines. Rifle mounts a folding bipod, adjustable rear notch and front post sight with protectors. Muzzle fitted with a "birdcage" flash hider with grenade launching rings, and a two-position safety to left receiver. Markings include SIG stamp and Made/in/Switzerland engraved into stock socket, SIG-AMT to the upper receiver, and matching serial numbers where observed. Left receiver shows importer marking Benet Arms/S.F. Cal./94-4079. The rifle features an alloy T-shaped charging handle, and comes with one 20-shot magazine and a black nylon sling. A length of duct tape has been wound over the edge of the carry handle to preserve the finish of the forend. The Sig AMT, or American Match Target, rifles were a semi-automatic only derivative of the Sig 510-4 rifle. Imported by Benet between 1969 and 1989, it is estimated that approximately 3,000 of these rifles entered the United States through all importers, making this firearm a rare sight. {MODERN}
